The Mobile Solar Power Unit is an ongoing project aimed at providing reliable, off-grid electrical power for agricultural and field operations where permanent infrastructure is unavailable. Designed for mobility, durability, and field serviceability, the system integrates a solar array, power management electronics, and weather-resistant enclosures into a rugged, wheeled platform. The unit will supply renewable energy to equipment at Cal Poly’s Experimental Farm, demonstrating how portable solar solutions can deliver sustainable and cost-effective power in real-world applications.
As Project Lead, I’m responsible for the design, fabrication, and electrical integration of the system. I developed the CAD layout and electrical architecture, coordinated manufacturing of the aluminum frame, and oversaw wiring and component placement to ensure safe, efficient power delivery. The project remains in active development, with current efforts focused on finishing the frame, final wiring, power testing, and optimizing enclosure design for durability and accessibility.
