I’m Thadeus Bates, an electrical engineering student at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, passionate about robotics, renewable energy, and hands-on design. I’ve spent years building and programming everything from Arduino-based projects to competitive FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) robots, where I led engineering and sub-team coordination while mentoring newer members.

At Cal Poly, I continue to grow as both an engineer and leader through the Future Fuels Club, which focuses on advancing alternative energy technologies such as solar, electric, biodiesel, and ethanol. As Electrical Lead, I oversee electrical design, troubleshooting, and system safety across multiple renewable energy projects—including the diesel-to-EV tractor conversion and an ongoing mobile solar power unit for Cal Poly’s Experimental Farm.
